I have decided to bring back the ambitious Valentine's Day short stories that I post for the week before 14 February. My work schedule tends to be long and demanding, so I have to take the time to plan for most of my content. This project is no different, and I would like to show some of the ways I get things done for it.
If you plan on writing anything for Valentine's day, let this post guide you.
Notebook and pens
My go-to tools for writing. I just need to sit down, pick some colours out and let the words flow. These pages you see are mostly drafts of what's to come and I also get to decide if it is something worth writing. One thing I try not to do is force myself to write about something I don't really care about.
Canva for graphics
Here is a condensed version of the Canva thumbnail creation processes for each story.
The thumbnails need to be relevant to what I write about, whether I use stock photos, drawings or my own photos. I make sure that I pick a colour and stick to it. The thumbnail creation process tends to be towards the end of my writing process as it takes the least amount of time
Content calendar
This is the simplified version of what I need to post for the remainder of this week. I just wrote the name of the story and the date in the colours I chose.
I also drafted all the stories on paper. I write non-stop and that stops me from editing as I go. I write and see what's up only after I'm done.
There it is! It's straightforward but it's gotten me through the harder days of writing.
