Mia has graduated from her university and is back home with the main character of this story. They are going shopping on Valentine's Day. This story is about a sister's date amongst lots of shopping.

It's been a month since Mia graduated from university. She has moved back home and started a new job and she's just enjoying herself with the rest of my family.

Today is another day of enjoyment - our room is getting a small makeover and we're doing it on Valentine's Day, along with a nice lunch.

We finally made it to the home goods store, and it was full of new stuff. Mia looked at the prices while I checked for our room's new colours: pink and orange.

We were going to change almost everything in our room. I kept it the same when she moved away - I just removed her bed to make space for my computer when I was studying online. Since she has graduated and I have gone back to physical school, her bed is back and we want something new. It's been a mix of soft blue and pink since we were little, but Mia's pictures of the sunset-inspired this change.

I finally found some scatter cushions in a soft rose pink. Mia found continental pillows in rusty orange, a great contrast.

'I really hope that the idea looks as good as it did in my head,' she says as we head to the bedding section. We grab some small fleece throws, fitted sheets and duvets. We even get some fake roses in different colours.

We finally made it to the register. I watched the amount slowly climb, hoping that it was worth what we wanted to do.

Mia notices my overthinking and says, 'it will be okay. If we don't like it, our parents might!'

'Do you think they'll buy them from us?'

She laughs. 'Why? If it doesn't work, we can just get another one!' she shakes her head. 'What do you want for lunch?'

'I'm craving a juicy burger. With the giant pineapple slices.'

'I thought it was a one-time thing?'

'Me too, but it reminds me of pineapple on pizza. It's great.'

Mia nods, not judging me but definitely not wanting to eat that for lunch.

'What are you eating?'

'A double cheeseburger. I need it for the room makeover.'

One hour, two juicy burgers and large Cokes later, we've polished the bedroom floor and stripped our beds of our old sheets, now spinning in the washing machine. Mia just put the fitted sheets in the beds and seems happy with the contrast. My bed is soft pink while hers is burnt orange.

Next, is the duvet in opposite colours, neatly made and folded just below the pillow area. Then Mia asks me to arrange the pillows as I want to.

We stepped back and high-fived each other. The vision was a fantastic version of the sunsets by the lake.

I almost flopped onto my bed when she got me. 'Change first!'

I rolled my eyes. It's my bed, but I grab my other clothes and go change in the bathroom. Mia had also changed clothes when I got back, probably reading an e-book as I finally flopped on the bed, feeling new sheets and admiring my pillows.

'Are you planning to watch a cheesy romance film tonight?' I ask her when I finally calm down.

'Only if it's a bad one. I need to laugh.'

'You've laughed enough today.'

She chuckles as she sits up. 'So you want to cry instead?'

'Yeah, love is cute.'

She shrugs. 'Okay. So, a rom-com?'

"I'll make the popcorn!' I run out of my room and get a few packets of microwave popcorn. Mia walks in and turns the TV on.

We finally settle in a choose a silly rom-com to watch on Valentine's Day.
