Aware is defined as " having perception or knowledge of a fact or situation"
The second stage of liberation is awareness - taking note of all you discovered. All that was and is. To begin to spot patterns - in the way you show up, the way you talk to yourself, the way you react, the things you allow. What makes you happy, sad, angry, fulfilled?
You notice things you may not have seen before.
Awareness is raw and unfiltered but not as painful as discovery because you've already done the uncovering. You must reconcile with all that you discovered -- good, bad, and in between.
In awareness, the goal is not to act nor to attempt to solve or change things. It's to just be. Witness and take note. To document all that you notice no matter how small. This opens you up for the third stage - Forgiveness.
So take a breath. Grab a journal and a pen. Take note. Write. All of it the feelings, the fear, the grief the memories, the way your body feels when you're looking back. the way you reacted now. The small thing you can't get your brain to stop thinking about.
Write it down. All of it. then read it. and write some more. Don't forget to breath.
You're aware and that counts for something.
