I might be in trouble.
I drink and I smoke almost everyday; 42% alcohol level Cafe Rhum for insomnia and Oris Menthol for stress.
After working a 24 hours shift, sleeping for 3 to 5 hours in the said 24 hours, my body is supposed to want to relax, to sleep more, but this disease we call sleeplessness keeps me up, teasing me with a shut down, but the moment I close my eyes, the feeling is gone.
Drinking gives me an annoying headache instead of knocking me out, I'm still as sharp as I was when I took the first sip, and hating on the taste if the beverage like it was at fault.
Like it was responsible for my troubles.
Also, I hope I'm not having a heart attack. My chest has been feeling tight and painful, occasionally at first, but now I've had it for three days straight.
Not bad enough that I cannot function, but I can only draw shallow breathes and I fake yawns so I can draw in more air, this gives me momentary relief (a few seconds) then the tightness returns.
Now I'm wide awake at 9:56pm, sitting on the cold floor and stifling sneezes brought on by the cold, wishing I can fall asleep. There is another 24 hour shift ahead of me.
